Participant Reflection

“I chose this aesthetic piece because it helped reflect upon the darker times of COVID19 and the severity of the restrictions implemented because of COVID19. These parks had always represented a joyful place in which many families and friends gather to unwind and enjoy the freedom of being able to socialize. However, due to COVID19, physical distancing was placed to mitigate the spread of COVID19 and the associated restrictions were placed in our society. These restrictions are best represented in these photos because COVID19 has affected our freedom and our ability to socialize and enjoy these joyful places.

Concerning my nursing education and practice, the continuous and changing restrictions that COVID19 has negatively affected my nursing education and practice as it has also negatively affected patients and residence giving a sense of hopelessness in a situation in which many of them are in a healthcare institution seeking to gain or maintain hope in their health. Hence, COVID19 challenges me in my nursing education and practice to continuously hope for the best and give hope to those in need.”
